As a significant part of China’s Fourfold Oil & Gas Strategy, the Tangshan LNG project groundbreaking ceremony was held at Caofeidian, Tangshan City, on the 23rd of March, 2011.

Qatargas commissions Petrochina's first LNG Terminal
Qatargas today, delivered its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to PetroChina’s first LNG receiving terminal at Rudong, Jiangsu Province. The cargo was delivered by the Q-Flex LNG carrier “Al-Rekayyat”.

Sinopec Launches First CBM Demonstration Project
Sinopec East China Company kicked off the coal bed methane (CBM) capacity building project in the southern industry zone of Yanchuan, Shanxi Province in early March. It is Sinopec’s first CBM capacity demonstration area. The demonstration project is projected to be completed in two to three years, and the major part of the project will be finished by the end of this year. It is estimated that by 2012, massive gas output will be achieved with considerable economic value.

SINOPEC Tianjin Company Became the First in China to Solely Process Condensate
Recently, with on-spec products coming out from the No1. atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit, this old unit in Sinopec Tianjin Petrochemical, built in 1976, was upgraded after maintenance and became the first dedicated condensate processing unit in China. From then on, feedstock for ethylene cracker in Sinopec Tianjin Petrochemical is basically self-supplied, and SINOPEC Tianjin has also become the first condensate refiner in China.

Icon Energy Signs LNG Sales Agreement with Shantou SinoEnergy
Icon Energy Limited (Icon Energy, ASX:ICN) today signed a binding LNG Sales Agreement (LNG Supply Agreement) with Shantou Sinogas Energy Co., Ltd (Shantou SinoEnergy) in Shantou City in Guangdong Province in China to supply 40,000,000 tonnes of LNG over 20 years, subject to certain conditions precedent (refer to Background Information below).

Tangshan, China Petroleum and liquefied natural gas project started
China's four major oil and gas strategy an important part of the Tangshan channel liquefied natural gas project, known as the Bohai Sea coast in the only "diamond level" port site Caofeidian in Tangshan City, Hebei Province held a groundbreaking ceremony. The construction of the project in Beijing, Tianjin will add another new pattern of diversification of gas supply security.

Saudi Aramco, and PetroChina MOU Signed for Refinery in Yunnan, China
Aramco Overseas Company B.V., a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, and PetroChina Company Limited, a subsidiary of CNPC, signed on March 17, 2011, a Memorandum of Understanding related to the planned development of a 10 million metric tons per annum (200,000 barrels per day) grassroots full conversion refinery in Yunnan Province in the People’s Republic of China.

Ivanhoe Energy Announces Testing of Xu-5 Formation at Zitong-1 Well in China to Commence
