Eni: important oil & gas discovery offshore Congo
Eni has made an important oil and gas discovery in the Nene’ Marine exploration prospect located in the Marine XII Block offshore Congo approximately 17 kilometers from the shoreline. The company estimates the volume of the discovery proved with the 2 wells so far drilled at around 600 million barrels of oil and 700 Billion cubic feet of gas in place. The structure has considerable additional upside that will be evaluated with further delineation wells.

Hyundai Heavy Wins USD 2 Billion Offshore Facilities Order
Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world’s biggest shipbuilder and leading offshore facilities contractor today announced it received a letter of award for a USD 1.3 billion order for a floating production unit (FPU) and a USD 700 million order for a tension leg platform (TLP) from Total E&P Congo on March 26.

Hyundai Heavy will carry out engineering, procurement, supply, construction, and commissioning for the two offshore facilities to be deployed in Moho Nord field, 80 km off Republic of the Congo’s coast.

The 14,600-tonne vertically moored floating TLP will be used to extract oil and natural gas, and transport those to the floating production unit. The 62,000-tonne FPU, measuring 250 m in length, 44 m in width, and 18 m in depth, will process the received oil and gas, and send the products to onshore plants via subsea pipelines. The FPU has a production capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil and 2.5 million cubic metres of natural gas per day.

The TLP and FPU will be installed at the Moho Nord field in the first half of 2015 and 2016 respectively.

New Discoveries in the Moho-Bilondo License in the Republic of the Congo
Total announces discoveries from the Bilondo Marine 2 and 3 wells (BILDM-2 and BILDM-3), drilled in a water depth of 800 metres in the central area of the Moho-Bilondo license, approximately 70 kilometres offshore the Republic of the Congo. They follow the successful exploration wells Moho Nord Marine 1 and 2 drilled in 2007.
