Petroperu signs agreement with Ecuador for use by the North Peruvian Pipeline
On Wednesday Aug. 8, was signed in Quito, Ecuador, an agreement to promote and facilitate the transport of oil from the Ecuadorian southeastern North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP). The event will be held at the offices of the Ministry of Non-Renewable Natural Resources of Ecuador. The document will be signed by Pedro Mendez Milla, Petroperu General Manager and representatives of the Ministry of Oil, Ecuador (SHE). The Chairman of Petroperu Sanchez Humberto Campodonico said that this agreement reinforces the bonds of friendship and integration between sectors of hydrocarbons in Peru and Ecuador.

EP Petrocuador And OCP Ecuador Signed Cooperation Agreements

Petroecuador to Expand and Upgrade Amazonas Shushufindi Refinery

Judge Who Issued $18.2 Billion Ruling against Chevron Removed from Bench

Chevron Awarded $96 Million in Arbitration Claim Against the Government of Ecuador
An international arbitration tribunal has awarded Chevron Corporation and Texaco Petroleum Company $96 million in a claim against Ecuador related to past oil operations by Texaco Petroleum, which is now a Chevron subsidiary. The tribunal, administered by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, found that Ecuador's courts violated international law through their significant delays in ruling on certain commercial disputes between Texaco Petroleum and the Ecuadorian government. The final award also takes into account taxes, compound interest, and costs associated with the preliminary award announced in March 2010.

Noble Energy Announces Exit From Ecuador
Noble Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NBL) announced today that it has received compensation totaling $97 million for the transfer of its assets in Ecuador to various government-affiliated entities. Compensation was received for the offshore Amistad field assets and Block 3 production sharing contract which was terminated by the government of Ecuador on November 25, 2010. In addition, total proceeds included an amount for the assignment of the Machala Power Electricity concession and its associated assets. Noble Energy previously owned these assets with a 100 percent working interest. The Company's net book value for the assets totaled approximately $68 million.

Chevron Appeals Ecuador Judgment
Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) has appealed the judgment entered last month against the company by the Provincial Court of Justice of Sucumbíos in Lago Agrio, Ecuador in a lawsuit alleging that Texaco Petroleum Company's participation in a state-controlled oil consortium prior to 1990 makes Chevron responsible for environmental impacts in the area. In the filing, Chevron details the pattern of fraud by the plaintiffs' lawyers, supporters and others that has corrupted the trial, as well as the numerous legal and factual defects in the judgment.
