FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced today the award of a new EPC contract with Statoil where Phase 1 of the Johan Sverdrup field is the first call-off. The contract has an estimated value of $172 million in revenue and includes subsea trees, subsea wellheads, manifolds, and control systems integration.

Amec Foster Wheeler announces today that it has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by BP for the provision of additional living quarters, as part of BP’s Life Extension Project on the Eastern Trough Area Project (ETAP) in the Central North Sea. On behalf of the Johan Sverdrup partnership, Statoil is today awarding a contract to Kværner Verdal for delivery of the steel jacket for the Johan Sverdrup drilling platform.

Polarled – the first pipeline crossing the Arctic Circle
On 21 August the Polarled gas pipeline crossed 66 degrees and 33 minutes north of the equator becoming the first pipeline to take the Norwegian gas infrastructure across the Arctic Circle. This will open a new gas highway from the Norwegian Sea to Europe.
