United States Grants Excelerate Energy Permission to Export LNG
The United States Department of Energy has granted Excelerate Energy a long-term, multi-contract authorization to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to free trade agreement (FTA) nations from its Lavaca Bay LNG project, currently under development. The company will be authorized to export up to 10 million metric tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG produced from domestic resources for a 20-year term commencing on the date of its first export.

Excelerate Energy Enters Into a Shipbuilding Option Agreement with DSME for Eight New FSRUs
Excelerate Energy today announced it has entered into a shipbuilding option agreement with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) for the delivery of up to eight Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) between early 2015 and early 2017. The agreement affords Excelerate, the world’s largest operator of regasification vessels and developer of LNG import solutions, the ability to increase its fleet of nine FSRUs as global demand for LNG import solutions continues to expand rapidly.

Excelerate Energy to Build First Floating Liquefaction Export Facility in the United States
Excelerate Energy® L.P. is moving forward with the development of the first floating liquefaction facility in the United States utilizing its Floating Liquefaction Storage Offloading vessel (FLSO™) technology. The Lavaca Bay LNG project will be located in Port Lavaca, situated between Galveston and Corpus Christi on the Texas Gulf Coast, and will be designed to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to markets worldwide by 2017.

Excelerate Energy Advances Its Seventh Offshore LNG Import Facility in Puerto Rico
Excelerate Energy has executed an agreement with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) to undertake the development and permitting of a floating offshore LNG regasification facility off the southern coast of Puerto Rico. The facility, named Aguirre GasPort®, will provide fuel to the Central Aguirre Power Plant and is a step forward in the island’s strategy to convert power generation from high-cost, high-emissions imported oil to cost-effective, cleaner-burning natural gas.

Excelerate Energy Performs 200th Ship-to-Ship Transfer of LNG
Excelerate Energy® L.P. completed its 200th commercial Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfer of LNG on November 27, 2011 in Escobar, Argentina at the GNL Escobar LNG import facility. Using Excelerate Energy’s regasification vessel, Exemplar and the conventional LNG carrier Excel, 58,230 cubic meters of LNG were transferred using the double-banked LNG transfer system. Whilst having just reached the 100th STS transfer milestone in March of this year, increased demand for LNG coupled with a need for rapid and reliable delivery to market, accelerated the realization of this latest milestone.

Petrobras Awards Excelerate Energy the Procurement of the VT3 Project, the World's Largest FSRU
Excelerate Energy has executed with Petrobras a 15-year time charter party to provide an advanced floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). This vessel, designated by Petrobras as VT3, will deliver 20 million cubic meters per day of natural gas to the Southeast Region of Brazil.

EXCELERATE ENERGY TO RETIRE ITS GULF GATEWAY DEEPWATER PORT
Responding to the changing market for liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports into the U.S. Gulf Coast, Excelerate Energy® LP (Excelerate Energy) will retire its deepwater facility in the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf Gateway Energy Bridge Deepwater Port (Gulf Gateway®). Excelerate Energy will continue to import LNG into the United States through its Northeast Gateway® Deepwater Port facility located offshore Boston, Massachusetts, providing incremental LNG access to the high-demand Northeastern US gas markets.

EXCELERATE ENERGY PERFORMS 100TH SHIP-TO-SHIP TRANSFER OF LNG
Excelerate Energy® L.P. continues to prove the commercial viability of Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfers of LNG with the successful completion of their 100th STS operation. On March 29, 2011, Excelerate Energy’s regasification vessel Exquisite received a transfer of 126,881 cubic meters of LNG. The 100th STS transfer took place in Kuwait at the Mina Al-Ahmadi GasPort® using the tandem LNG transfer system. Out of these 100 STS transfers, 55 STS transfers involved the use of flexible hoses where two ships where moored to each other.
