GDF SUEZ signs an agreement with NYK and Mitsubishi to develop LNG as marine fuel worldwide
GDF SUEZ, Mitsubishi and NYK signed a framework agreement aiming to develop the LNG Bunkering market worldwide through LNG Bunkering Vessels. This partnership results in two first contracts: on behalf of the venture, the NYK’s order of an LNG bunkering vessel and an LNG bunkering contract between GDF SUEZ and United European Car Carriers (UECC), a leading short-sea operator. The partners will provide their know-how and experience to develop this first project in the Northern Europe Emissions Controlled Area (ECA)* from Zeebrugge, in Belgium.

Santos and GDF SUEZ to review alternative development concepts for Bonaparte LNG
Santos (40%) and GDF SUEZ (60% and operator) today announced that the Bonaparte LNG project will consider other potential development options in addition to the floating LNG concept to develop the Petrel, Tern and Frigate natural gas fields, located 250 kilometres offshore west of Darwin. These options will include a pipeline connection to Darwin.

First GDF SUEZ long term LNG sales to Japan
GDF SUEZ and the Japanese utility company Tohoku have signed on 16 May 2014 in Paris a long term LNG sale and purchase Heads of Agreement. Under this new agreement GDF SUEZ commits to deliver 270,000 tonnes per year (tpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Tohoku Electric Power. The long term contract will start in 2018 and last for a 20-year period.

GDF SUEZ inaugurates on-shore LNG storage tank in Chile
GDF SUEZ is pleased to announce the inauguration of the on-shore storage tank for the GNL Mejillones LNG regasification terminal. The tank was inaugurated today by the President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet and the Chairman and CEO of GDF SUEZ, Gerard Mestrallet.

First GDF SUEZ long term LNG sale to Asia with a 0.8 mtpa contract to CPC of Taiwan
GDF SUEZ announces the signature of a Heads of Agreement providing for the sale of LNG under a long term agreement with CPC Corporation of Taiwan (CPC). Under the terms of the agreement, GDF SUEZ will deliver 800,000 tons per year of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to CPC on a 20-year period starting 2018. LNG will be sourced from the Cameron LNG plant in the USA. The Cameron LNG export project which partners are GDF SUEZ, Sempra, Mitsubishi and Mitsui has received conditional approvals from the US Department of Energy (DOE) and partial agreement from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and is likely to be firmly sanctioned within the course of this year.

Participation in Offshore LNG Receiving Terminal Project in Uruguay
Marubeni Corporation (“Marubeni”) has reached agreement with GDF SUEZ (France) on participation in the offshore LNG receiving terminal project in Uruguay for providing the LNG receiving, storage and regasification service (“Project”) which GDF SUEZ, through its affiliate International Power S.A. (Belgium, “IPSA”) has been developing, and has executed the Shareholders Agreement. Through the company (“Holding Company”) incorporated in Spain by Marubeni and IPSA on a 50/50 basis, Marubeni and IPSA participate in GNLS S.A. (“GNLS”) incorporated in Uruguay as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Holding Company.

Uruguay’s LNG import terminal project: GDF SUEZ charters the world’s largest LNG Floating Storage and Regasification Unit
GDF SUEZ announces, together with its project partner Marubeni, that it has chartered a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) which will be the world’s largest upon commissioning. It will be used for the LNG import terminal project, GNL del Plata in Uruguay.
