Technip awarded a 10-year Spar platform master agreement in the Gulf of Mexico
Technip was awarded a 10-year master agreement by BP Exploration and Production, Inc. The agreement covers the design, procurement and construction of hulls and mooring systems for Spar(1) platforms to be located in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as the design of top tension risers(2) for dry tree units. This award follows a design competition and confirms Technip’s leadership in Spar technology, secured over time through the construction of 14 of the 17 existing Spars worldwide.

KBR Awarded Detailed Design Engineering Contract for Jack & St. Malo Floating Production Unit by Chevron U.S.A. Inc.
KBR (NYSE:KBR) today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Chevron U.S.A. Inc. to execute detailed design engineering for the Jack & St. Malo floating production unit (FPU) located in the Lower Tertiary trend in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The Jack and St. Malo fields are located within 25 miles (40 km) of one another approximately 280 miles (450 km) south of New Orleans, Louisiana, in water depths of 7,000 feet (2,100 m).

BOEMRE Approves First-Ever Use of Deepwater Floating Production Storage Offloading Facility in Gulf of Mexico
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) today provided the final approval necessary for Petrobras America, Inc. to begin oil and natural gas production at its Cascade-Chinook project using a Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) facility. This will be the first time this technology is used in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. BOEMRE approved the project’s Production Safety System permit and Supplemental Deepwater Operating Plan (DWOP), to ensure that stringent safety regulations were met. The FPSO has a production capacity of 80,000 barrels of oil per day and 16 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. With the completion of this final regulatory step, production from this facility is expected to begin in the near future.

Noble Energy Receives Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Drilling Permit
Noble Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NBL) announced today that it has received an approved permit to resume drilling at the Santiago prospect in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Well operations were suspended in June 2010 as a result of the deepwater Gulf of Mexico drilling moratorium. Santiago is a middle Miocene amplitude prospect on Mississippi Canyon Block 519. Noble Energy is the operator with a 23.25 percent working interest.

Wood Group Kenny awarded Amberjack Jack/St. Malo oil export pipeline detailed design
Wood Group’s J P Kenny has been awarded a contract to perform detailed design for Amberjack Pipeline Company LLC’s Jack/St. Malo deepwater oil export pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico. Amberjack Pipeline Company LLC is a joint venture between Chevron Pipe Line Company and Shell Pipeline Company LP. Chevron Pipe Line Company will construct and operate this pipeline for Amberjack.The one-year contract follows J P Kenny’s successful completion of the front-end engineering and design for the project.

Anadarko Provides Status Update of Caesar/Tonga Project
Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC) today announced that a mechanical issue involving the production riser system at the Caesar/Tonga project in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico will delay first production, which was expected in mid-2011. Although the production riser system underwent an extensive qualification program prior to installation, Anadarko's recent hydro-testing of the riser provided results that preclude it from being put into service on this project.

KBR to Execute Detailed Design of Chevron Big Foot Topsides
KBR (NYSE:KBR) today announced that it has been selected by Chevron USA Inc. to execute the detailed design for the Chevron Big Foot Topsides project. The Big Foot field is located in the Walker Ridge Block 29 of the Gulf of Mexico and is owned by Chevron USA Inc. (operator) and other working interest owners. The proposed facility will be installed in approximately 5,200 feet of water approximately 225 miles from New Orleans and 35 miles south of Chevron's producing Tahiti field.
