First paraxylene produced at Atyrau Refinery
Official ceremony of producing the first batch of a new product – paraxylene at the Aromatics Production Complex has taken place at the Atyrau Refinery as part of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the facility.
It was attended by representatives of the RoK’s Ministry of Energy, “Samruk-Kazyna” SWF JSC, JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, JSC “KazMunayGas – Refining and Marketing” and others.

Foster Wheeler Awarded Contract For Terrace Wall Steam Reformer Heater In Kazakhstan
Foster Wheeler AG (Nasdaq:FWLT) announced today that a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by Marubeni Corporation for the engineering and material supply of a new Terrace Wall steam reformer heater, including an air preheating system, for the KazMunayGaz oil refinery located at Atyrau, Republic of Kazakhstan.

Shymkent Refinery EPC contract signed
On January 30, 2014 in Almaty PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP (owned on a parity basis by NC KazMunaiGas JSC and CNPC) and Chinese company CPECC entered into the contract for the detailed engineering, procurement of equipment and materials and implementation of construction and installation work (EPC contract), as part of PKOP's transition to practical implementation of the Shymkent Refinery Modernization Project.

Eni: first oil from the Kashagan field has been produced
Eni announces today that first oil from the giant Kashagan oil field has been produced. The oilfield is located in the North Caspian Sea, approximately 80 kilometres southeast of Atyrau, in Kazakhstan. Eni holds a 16.81% stake in the consortium for the development of Kashagan and through Agip KCO is responsible for developing and start of production of the field.

Rominserv will perform the modernisation works on Pavlodar Refinery (Kazakhstan)
Rominserv, part of The Rompetrol Group, will perform the works for modernisation and enhancing the processing capacity of Pavlodar refinery in Kazakhstan, the value of the contract – signed at the beginning of this week - amounting to USD 1.072 billion. The programme targets the increase of the processing capacity to 7 million tons/year, the increase of the refining yield as well as the improvement of the product quality and the reduction of the environmental impact.

ConocoPhillips Notified of Republic of Kazakhstan’s Intent to Pre-empt ConocoPhillips’ Sale of Kashagan Interest
ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP) today confirmed receiving official notification that the Kazakhstan Ministry of Oil and Gas is exercising its right under the Subsoil Law of Kazakhstan to pre-empt ConocoPhillips’ proposed sale of its 8.4 percent interest in the North Caspian Sea Production Sharing Agreement (Kashagan) to ONGC Videsh Limited.

Caspian Pipeline Consortium Loaded 3000th Tanker
The 3,000th tanker has been loaded at the Marine Terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in Novorossiysk since the start of operations. The tanker, CE-NIRIIS with a deadweight of 106,504 tons (owned by Marine Trust LTD, Greece) completed loading at 5:15 pm local time on June 26.
