Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has won an order to supply Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers to a refinery in Kazakhstan. The order value is approximately SEK 55 million and delivery is scheduled for 2012.

Fluor Awarded Caspian Pipeline Expansion Contract in Kazakhstan & Russia
Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Chevron Neftegaz (one of three project managers engaged by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium) for its recently announced expansion project. Fluor will provide project services for the marine terminal and supervisory control and data system (SCADA) portions of the Caspian Pipeline Expansion project. The pipeline begins in western Kazakhstan and runs 1,510 kilometers west to the terminal in Novorossiysk, Russia, on the Black Sea. Fluor booked $100 million into backlog in the second quarter.

KMG EP announces operating results for 2010
JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (“KMG EP” or “the Company”), announced today that in the full year ended 31 December 2010 it produced 13,285 thousand tonnes of crude oil (270kbopd), which includes the Company’s stakes in Kazgermunai LLP, CCEL (“Karazhanbasmunai”) and PetroKazakhstan Inc. This is 1,788 thousand tonnes, or 16% more than in 2009. The increase in production mainly results from the acquisition of 33% stake in PetroKazakhstan Inc. in December 2009. Production plans for 2010 were outperformed by all associated companies and production facilities except Uzenmunaigas.

Chevron and Other Shareholders Sanction Caspian Pipeline Expansion
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) today announced that the shareholders and governing bodies of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) have unanimously approved the $5.4 billion expansion of the Caspian pipeline. The capacity of the 900-mile (1500 km) pipeline, which carries crude oil from Western Kazakhstan to a dedicated terminal in the Black Sea, will increase to 1.4 million barrels per day from its current capacity of 730,000 barrels per day.
