Statoil and the partners in the Johan Sverdrup field have decided on a concept for the first development phase. The partners have agreed on a field centre consisting of four installations and power from shore.

New contract secured for Maersk Guardian
Maersk Drilling has signed a contract with Premier Oil Norge AS for the jack-up Maersk Guardian for a one well drilling operation, the Myrhauk exploration well, in the Norwegian North Sea. The duration of the contract is approximately 62 days. The contract will commence in direct continuation of the present Lundin Norway AS contract during Q3 2014.

Concept selection for the Johan Sverdrup field early in 2014
Statoil ASA (OSE:STL, NYSE:STO) and the partners in the Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea continue their work to evaluate and optimise the field development concept. The final decision regarding concept selection will be made early in 2014.

Maersk Drilling orders new ultra harsh jack-up backed by BP contract
Maersk Drilling has ordered a new ultra harsh environment jack-up rig, XL Enhanced 4, to be built at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard in South Korea. The rig is scheduled for delivery in mid-2016. The total project cost for the rig is USD 650m including a turnkey contract with the yard, owner furnished equipment, project management and capitalised interest. The contract with DSME includes priced options for delivery of up to two additional units with delivery in 2016/2017.

Offshore Solutions signs north sea contract with Maersk Oil UK
Offshore Solutions BV (OSBV), the joint venture between AMEC and Cofely Nederland NV, has signed a North Sea contract with Maersk Oil UK to provide marine access support to the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit Global Producer III.

Maersk Oil UK announces approval for the Balloch Field Development Plan
Maersk Oil UK announced today that the company had received FDP (Field Development Plan) approval from the Department of Energy and Climate Change for the Balloch oil field, 140 miles north east of Aberdeen in the Central North Sea.

Dana Petroleum has started drilling a new prospect in the Norwegian Sea in partnership with the operator Maersk Oil Norway
The drilling rig Transocean Barents has started operations on the Albert prospect in production license PL 513 in the Haltenbanken area. The gas/condensate prospect in the Cretaceous Lysing formation will be drilled down to 3,500 meters and is expected to be completed by the end of January 2013.

First oil at Dunga Phase II sets path to 30,000 bpd in Kazakhstan

Maersk Oil UK increases acreage after UK 27th Round Licensing Awards
Maersk Oil UK has been offered nine of the currently awarded licenses in the UK’s 27 Licensing Round, three operated and six non-operated, further strengthening its position in the UK North Sea. The awarded licences will result in exploration drilling of one firm well and one contingent well.

Farm-in agreement with Maersk Oil, offshore Greenland
Tullow Oil plc (Tullow) announces that Naalakkersuisut, Greenland’s Government, has approved an agreement with Maersk Oil for Tullow to take a non-operated 40 per cent equity position in Block 9 (Tooq licence), Baffin Bay, north-western Greenland. Maersk Oil will continue to act as operator of the licence with a 47.5 per cent interest and Nunaoil, Greenland’s state oil company, will hold a 12.5 per cent interest.
