Contract for deepwater rig MAERSK DISCOVERER
Maersk Drilling has signed a contract with BP for the ultra deepwater semi-submersible MAERSK DISCOVERER for work initially offshore Egypt. The firm contract duration is four years and the contract also includes an option for one year. The contract is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2012.

Teekay LNG Partners and Marubeni Joint Venture to Acquire Ownership Interest in Eight LNG Carriers From A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S
Teekay LNG Partners L.P. (Teekay LNG or the Partnership) today announced that its joint venture (the Joint Venture) with Marubeni Corporation (Marubeni) has agreed to acquire ownership interests in eight liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers from Denmark-based global conglomerate, A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $1.402 billion.

Technip awarded contract by Maersk Oil in the North Sea
Technip was awarded an installation contract, worth approximately €40 million, by Maersk Oil North Sea UK Limited for the Gryphon Area Reinstatement Programme – GARP(1), located about 320 kilometers North-East of Aberdeen in 110 meters of water.

Maersk Oil approves Golden Eagle field development plan
Maersk Oil, a fully-owned subsidiary of the A. P. Moller – Maersk Group, has approved its investment of $1 billion in the Field Development Plan for the Golden Eagle Area in the UK North Sea. Maersk Oil has a non-operated interest in the fields of 31.56% and its estimated share of reserves is expected to be around 45 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Buckskin prospect gets U.S. deepwater drilling permit
Maersk Oil is participating in a new deepwater well in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico after operator Chevron received a drilling permit from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE).

Maersk Oil and TNO join forces for innovative oil production technology
Today, Maersk Oil announced that it has established a long term collaboration agreement with TNO to jointly develop new technologies for increased oil recovery (IOR). Focus will be on long horizontal wells and increasing oil recovery through integrated operations and production optimisation. The joint research project will be located at the Qatar Science and Technology Park in Doha where both Maersk Oil and TNO have research centers.

Maersk Oil and partner OGX find oil offshore Brazil
Today, Maersk Oil Brasil and partner OGX reported finding oil in the ongoing Carambola B exploration well. The well is located in the BM-C-37 license in the Campos Basin in 130 metres water depth, some 80 kilometers off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Maersk Oil is the operator and has a 50% share of the block.

Maersk Oil to buy Devon Energy’s 15% interest in Angola Block 16
Maersk Oil, a fully owned subsidiary of A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S, has agreed to acquire a 15% interest in Block 16 in Angola from Devon Energy for an initial payment of USD 70 million and future contingent considerations. The agreement is subject to closing conditions including government approval.
