The consortium among four (4) companies (hereinafter “MITC Consortium") consisting of MODEC, Inc. (MODEC), IHI Corporation (IHI), Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO) and CB&I Nederland B.V. (CB&I) announced that MITC consortium has been awarded a contract from Malaysian state-operated oil company, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) for the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) of a Floating LNG (FLNG) Project on dual FEED mode in Malaysia.

Air Products’ LNG Expertise Selected for PETRONAS FLNG Project in Malaysia
Air Products’ (NYSE: APD) global leading liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology and equipment will be floating on an LNG production platform 180 kilometers off the coast of Malaysia and producing 1.2 million tons per year of LNG when the PETRONAS Floating LNG Project 1 (PFLNG 1) comes onstream in late 2015. Air Products today announced the signing of an equipment and process license agreement with PETRONAS Floating LNG 1 Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad, the national oil and gas company of Malaysia.

CB&I Announces Technology Contract in Malaysia

Statoil Escalating on the Asian market
Statoil increases its efforts relating to supply of gas to the Asian market, and has for the first time entered into an agreement for long-term LNG deliveries in that region.
This week Statoil signed an agreement to deliver LNG to Petronas at theirLNG import terminal in Malaka.

PETRONAS Selects GE Technology for the PETRONAS LNG Train 9 Project
GE Oil & Gas (NYSE: GE) will supply proven, advanced turbocompression technology for the PETRONAS LNG Train 9 project, which will add 3.6 million tons per annum (mtpa) to the existing 25.7 mtpa production capacity of the PETRONAS LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia. Train 9 of the PETRONAS LNG Complex will utilize APCI Split MRTM liquefaction process technology. GE Oil & Gas announced its role in the project at the World Gas Conference in Kuala Lumpur.
