PETRONAS AWARDS SMALL FIELDS RISK SERVICE CONTRACT TO ROC AND PARTNERS
Petroliam Nasional Berhad ("PETRONAS") has entered into a Small Field Risk Service Contract ("SFRSC") for the pre-development and development of the Balai Cluster Fields, located offshore Sarawak, with a contractor group comprising Roc Oil Malaysia (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of ROC, Dialog D & P Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dialog Group Bhd ("DIALOG Group") and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd ("PETRONAS Carigali"). Participating interests in the contractor group are ROC 48%, DIALOG Group 32% and PETRONAS Carigali 20%. ROC, Dialog and PETRONAS Carigali intend to form an incorporated joint venture company ("JVC") to manage the SFRSC.

SMC buys EXXON Mobil’s downstream oil business in Malaysia
San Miguel Corporation announced today that following approval by the company’s Board of Directors, management has signed sale and purchase agreements to acquire three subsidiaries comprising Exxon Mobil’s downstream oil business in Malaysia. The companies are: Esso Malaysia Bhd (EMB), a publicly traded company of which Exxon Mobil owns a 65% stake; and wholly-owned ExxonMobil Malaysia Sdn Bhd (EMMSB), and Exxon Mobil Borneo Sdn Bhd (EMBSB). The three subsidiaries form an integrated business engaged in the refining, distribution and marketing of petroleum products. Physical assets include the Port Dickson refinery with a rated capacity of 88,000 barrels per day; seven fuel distribution terminals; and a network of roughly 560 branded service stations, 420 of which are company-owned. The transaction is valued at US$610 million.

Heads Of Agreements With Zecon Berhad And Gulf Asian Petroleum Sdn Bhd
KNM Group Berhad (“KNM”) is pleased to announce that on 25 July 2011, KNM and Zecon Berhad (“Zecon”) had entered into the following Heads of Agreements (“HOAs”) with Gulf Asian Petroleum Sdn Bhd (“GAP”) towards inter alia the following:-

  1. to undertake the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (“EPC”) Contract for the 150,000/200,000 bpd Petroleum Refinery and 400,000/525,000 mtpa Polypropylene Unit for GAP (“the Refinery/Polypropylene Project”) with a total Project Value of USD5.0 billion (equivalent to about RM15.0 billion based on the exchange rate of USD1.00 : RM3.00); and
  2. to undertake the Engineering, Procurement, # Construction and Commissioning (“EPC”) Contract for the Petroleum Product Storage Terminal Facility comprising 4 Terminals with a total storage capacity of 2.328 million cubic meters, complete with supporting infrastructure and auxiliaries including the jetty (“the Storage Project”) with a total Contract Value of RM2.0 billion.

Qatargas And Petronas Sign Heads Of Agreement For Long-Term LNG Supply To Malaysia
Qatargas achieved another milestone today, as it announces the signing of a Heads of Agreement (HOA) to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to PETRONAS LNG Ltd; (formerly known as ASEAN LNG Trading Company), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), the national oil and gas company of Malaysia, at a ceremony held in Doha, Qatar.
