Marathon Petroleum to Purchase BP's Texas City Refinery and Related Logistics and Marketing Assets
Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: MPC) today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase BP's 451,000 barrel per calendar day (475,000 barrel per stream day) Texas City refinery, three intrastate NGL pipelines originating at the refinery, an allocation of BP's Colonial Pipeline Company shipper history, four terminals, retail marketing contract assignments for approximately 1,200 branded sites and a 1,040 megawatt cogeneration (cogen) facility.

Technip awarded EPIC contract by Marathon Oil
Technip was awarded a contract by Marathon Oil Norge AS for on-going expansion of the subsea drill centres at Kneler B and Volund located in the Alvheim area in the North Sea. The water depths in the area is around 120 meters, and the subsea work will be performed by use of remotely-operated vehicules as well as by divers.

Marathon Oil Announces Re-entry into Gabon
Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE: MRO) announced today that its subsidiary Marathon Upstream Gabon Limited has entered into a farmout agreement with Total Gabon for a 21.25 percent working (25 percent paying) interest in the Diaba License G4-223 and its related permit in Gabon with an effective date of June 15, 2012. The companies expect to close the transaction, subject to completion of the necessary Gabonese government and partner approvals, in the third quarter of 2012.

Technip awarded a major contract for the Bøyla field development in Norway
Technip was awarded by Marathon Oil Norge AS an engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning contract, worth above €300 million, for the Bøyla field development in the North Sea, located about 225 kilometers West of Stavanger, Norway, at a water depth of 120 meters. The contract includes all activities necessary to complete the construction of the subsea system for the Bøyla field development and connect it to the existing Alvheim subsea facilities, located 28 kilometers away.
