Enhancement of the exploration & production portfolio through North Sea acquisition
MOL Plc. hereby informs the capital market participants that in line with the company’s active portfolio development strategy, MOL has executed Share Purchase Agreements with Wintershall Norge AS for acquiring shareholding interest of Wintershall’s UK North Sea basin off-shore assets in 14 licences. The transaction provides MOL with an opportunity to acquire a foothold in the attractive North Sea area. The portfolio includes non-operated equity stakes in the Broom (29% Working Interest), Catcher (20% WI), Cladhan (33.5% WI), Scolty and Crathes fields (50% WI). In addition, Wintershall’s equity share in infrastructure on the Sullom Voe Terminal and Brent Pipeline System are also part of the deal.

SLOVNAFT and the MOL Group intend to modernize the Adria pipeline, participation offer also to Transpetrol
SLOVNAFT and the MOL Group plan to invest into modernization of Adria crude oil pipeline. The investment could significantly increased capacity of the pipeline between Slovakia and Hungary and based on the initial estimates will cost around 80 million euro. For Slovakia this would mean the creation of alternative solution for the transportation of oil in sufficient quantity, without supplies from other pipelines. SLOVNAFT offered participation in the project to the state company Transpetrol as strategic partner.

The Council of EU decision concerning restrictive measures against Syria
On 02 September 2011 Council of the European Union has passed decisions and has further tightened the EU’s sanctions against Syria and imposed a ban on the import of Syrian oil to the EU. The prohibition concerns purchase, import and transport of oil and other petroleum products from Syria, as well as a ban on providing financial or insurance services for such transactions.

Rijeka refinery modernization first phase completed
The facilities within the first phase of Rijeka Refinery modernization were put into operation on February 12 2011. The first phase of Rijeka Refinery modernization included three facilities within Hydrocracking complex and other supporting facilities and installations. The facilities are: Mild hydrocracking (MHC/HDS), Hydrogen generation unit and Desulphurization plant (Claus). Total investment into first phase of Rijeka Refinery modernization is close to EUR 400 million.
