Subsea 7 S.A. awarded Ehra North contract
Subsea 7 S.A. (Oslo Børs: SUBC) today announced the award of a contract from Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Ltd for the development of the Erha North field, located offshore Nigeria in water depths between 1,000 metres and 1,200 metres. The contract was awarded to a consortium of West African Ventures Ltd and Subsea 7’s Nigerian subsidiary.

Nigeria: Total announces the sale of its participating interest in the offshore OML 138
Total announces that it has finalized an agreement to sell its 20% contractor interest in OML 138 block to a wholly owned subsidiary of China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec), for approximately US$2.5 billion in cash (subject to post-closing adjustments). The agreement is subject to approval by the Nigerian authorities.

Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc (Shell), completed on August 31st 2012 the assignment of its 30% interest in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 40 in the Niger Delta to Elcrest Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited. Total cash proceeds for SPDC amount to some US$102million.

Chevron Completes Drilling of Relief Well Offshore Nigeria
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) said that its subsidiary, Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), has sealed and abandoned the shallow water Funiwa 1A natural gas well after completing the drilling of a relief well. Production at the North Apoi field, which had been shut in as a precaution, has also been restored and the field is now producing approximately 2,000 barrels of oil per day.
