Additional Modernisation at the Pančevo Oil Refinery
In an effort to ensure the reliable operation of production facilities and increase the volume of production of top quality petroleum products, NIS is going to launch a planned overhaul of all refinery process facilities in Pančevo as of 1 September. The overhaul is going to last until 30 September and in addition to controlling, replacing and inspecting the refinery equipment, the refinery capacities will be additionally modernised at the same time.

NIS Introduced the Development Strategy of Base Oil Production in the Novi Sad Refinery
Presentation of the Development Strategy of Base Oil Production in the NIS Refinery in Novi Sad was held on 29 August. The Board of NIS Directors approved this document in May 2012, and it was also approved by the two largest shareholders of NIS – the Serbian Government and the company “Gazprom Neft”.

NIS announced an investment program in ecology
In NIS, the Serbian government today announced the results of environmental projects, strategic objectives and investment program in the field of environmental protection. On this important project, they said Kiril Kravchenko, Director General of NIS ad, and Oliver Dulic, Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning.

NIS and RAG sign an agreement for joint exploration in the South of Hungary
NIS and Austrian Rohöl-Aufsuchungs Aktiengesellschaft , via its Hungarian subsidiary RAG Hungary Kft (RAG), have entered into agreements to jointly explore and develop hydrocarbons in the Kiskunhalas exploration license area west of the city of Szeged in southern Hungary. The license held by RAG Hungary comprises an area of 2255 km2.

NIS begins work in Hungary
The Serbian company NIS, along with TXM Oil and Gas Exploration Kft. (TXM), a subsidiary of the Canadian firm Falcon Oil & Gas Ltd., have signed an Agreement of Intent according to which NIS acquires a stake in the development of hydrocarbon-saturated sandstone deposits located at a depth of 2500 – 3500 metres below the Hungarian village of Algyo. The license for the deposit, which covers an area of 995km2 in the Mako region of Hungary, is currently owned by Falcon.

NIS to Start Operations in Romania
Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) and the Canadian East West Petroleum Corp. (EWP) signed a memorandum of understanding, under which the companies will collaborate in the exploration and development of four blocks in Romania - EX-2 (Tria), EX-3 (Baile Felix), EX-7 (Perry) and EX-8 (Blled). This program of exploration will include the collection and processing during a two-year period of 2D and 3D seismic data survey in areas of 900 sq. km and 600 sq. km. km respectively, and drilling of least 12 exploration wells.

Gazprom Neft purchases 5.15% shares in NIS
Gazprom Neft announces that it has finalised its offer made in January to the minority shareholders of Serbian oil company NIS. 8,4 million NIS shares were submitted for purchase, amounting to 5.15% of the company's authorised capital. The maximum number of NIS shares that could be submitted for the buy-out was 19.12% or 31,18 million of shares with voting rights.

NIS begins overhaul and reconstruction of the Pancevo Oil Refinery
Designed to ensure reliable operation of production facilities and increase the volume of production of petroleum products, Petroleum Industry of Serbia has today begun repairing and reconstruction of the oil refinery in Pancevo. Overhaul of the refinery plant worth 480 million dinars, and the reconstruction of the complex fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) 14 million.
