Trans Mountain Expansion Receives Strong Binding Commercial Support
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: KMP) today announced it will proceed with its proposed plans to expand the existing Trans Mountain pipeline system following the receipt of strong binding commitments through the recently concluded open season. A diverse group of existing and new shippers submitted 660,000 barrels per day (bpd) of binding commercial support for the open season. All commitments are for a 20-year term. When completed, the proposed expansion will increase capacity on Trans Mountain from the existing capacity of 300,000 bpd to 850,000 bpd.

Canacol Energy Ltd. and ExxonMobil Sign Agreement for Shale Oil Exploration Project in Colombia
Canacol Energy Ltd. (“Canacol” or the “Corporation”) (TSX:CNE) (BVC:CNEC) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Carrao Energy Sucursal Colombia (“Carrao Colombia”), has entered into a farm-out agreement (the “FOA”) with ExxonMobil Exploration Colombia Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation (“ExxonMobil”) (NYSE:XOM) for the exploration of the Corporation’s non-operated VMM 2 exploration and production (“E&P”) contract located in the Middle Magdalena basin of Colombia. The VMM 2 E&P contract is one of three adjacent contracts that Canacol has interests in, representing 126,000 net acres that expose Canacol to a potentially large, unconventional shale oil play. With $ 91 million in cash, cash equivalents, and restricted cash on hand as of December 31, 2011, and strong cash flow from its operated oil producing assets in Colombia, the Corporation remains fully funded to execute its exploration and development programs for 2012.

TransCanada Set to Re-Apply for Keystone XL Permit Proceeding with Gulf Coast Project
TransCanada Corporation (TSX, NYSE: TRP) (TransCanada) announced today it has sent a letter to the U.S. Department of State (DOS) informing the Department the company plans to file a Presidential Permit application (cross border permit) in the near future for the Keystone XL Project from the U.S./Canada border in Montana to Steele City, Nebraska. TransCanada would supplement that application with an alternative route in Nebraska as soon as that route is selected.

TRANSNEFT plans ESPO-2’s start up in December 2012
TRANSNEFT JSC is planning to commission the second line of the East Siberia – Pacific Ocean oil pipeline (ESPO-2) in December, as A.Bezverkhov (the Vice-President of the oil pipe monopoly) said while his business visit to the Khabarovsk Region. The construction and assembling works will be finished in the third quarter of the current year, and the exploitation will be started in December, he declared. According to the Company’s estimations, the pipes would be filled with oil as early as the middle of the summer of the present year.

South Sudan and Kenya sign MoU on construction of oil pipeline
The Republic of South Sudan and the Republic of Kenya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build oil pipeline from South Sudan to the Kenyan Port of Lamu. The agreement comes four days after South Sudan passed a resolution in cabinet to shut down the oil operations through the pipeline which passes through Sudan to its sea port of Port Sudan.
