Excelerate’s FSRUs Perform the First STS Transfer of LNG at Engro Elengy LNG Terminal Pakistan
On July 17, 2015, Excelerate Energy L.P. (“Excelerate”) completed the first Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfer of LNG at the Engro Elengy LNG Terminal located in Port Qasim, Pakistan. Excelerate’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), EXQUISITE, received 130,000 cubic meters of LNG from the FSRU EXCELERATE using the double-banked LNG transfer system. This transfer also marks the company’s 500th commercial STS operation using the double-banked cryogenic transfer system technology developed by Excelerate.

Engro Corporation and Excelerate Energy Commission Port Qasim LNG Terminal
On March 28, 2015, officials from Engro Corporation (“Engro”), Excelerate Energy (“Excelerate”), and the Government of Pakistan were present for the inauguration of Pakistan’s first LNG import terminal in Port Qasim. Located in a channel of the Indus River east of Karachi, the terminal is a result of a fast-track LNG import solution built to alleviate the energy shortage facing the country, and was brought into service 11 months from the start of construction. Utilizing Excelerate’s floating storage and regasification vessel (FSRU), the EXQUISITE, the facility has the capacity to deliver up to 690 MMcf/d of natural gas directly to Sui Southern Gas Company’s natural gas pipeline system.

Qatargas sells the first LNG cargo to Pakistan to commission LNG terminal
Qatargas sold its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO). The LNG cargo was sold on a free-on-board basis and loaded at Ras Laffan Port on to the LNG vessel Excelerate Exquiste on 21 March 2015.

The cargo was secured to commission the Excelerate Exquiste, which will become the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit, when it is moored in Port Qassim, Pakistan as part of the Elengy LNG terminal which is the first Pakistan LNG import terminal.

This is the first LNG agreement between Qatar and Pakistan and the first ever LNG import deal for any entity in Pakistan.

The delivery of LNG to PSO is important milestone for Qatargas as it continues to play a key role in the Middle Eastern market and positions itself as a world leader in the supply of energy to global and new markets.

Qatargas is committed to reliably supplying more countries with a clean, safe and highly efficient source of energy. Both parties, Qatargas and PSO are in continuous discussions for a longer term Sales and Purchase Agreement to supply LNG to Pakistan. Pakistan is a nation with strong growth potential and is heavily reliant on gas as part of its energy mix.

One of the key strengths of Qatargas has been the development of considerable expertise in supporting the commissioning of new LNG Receiving Terminals globally. To date the Company has helped commission 14 LNG terminals across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Significant oil discovery in Ghauri Block, Pakistan
MOL Plc. is pleased to announce that Ghauri Joint Venture (GJV) has made a significant oil discovery in Ghauri X-1 well, located in district Jhelum, Punjab Province in Pakistan. GJV comprises Mari Petroleum Company with 35% working interest as operator as well as Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and MOL with 35% and 30% working interests, respectively. The Ghauri well discovery is a landmark achievement being the first hydrocarbon discovery in the Eastern part of Potwar Plateau.

Byco Announces Completion of the Country’s Largest Oil Refinery
Byco Oil Pakistan Limited today announced the completion of the country’s largest oil refinery at Mouza Kund, District Lasbella, Balouchistan. At present the Refinery is in state of pre-commissioning and preparatory activities wherein different Plants, Equipment & Instrumentation are being put to confirmatory checks and tests. Cold circulation of crude oil has already been established and sustained. Also Furnaces of different Process Units have been test fired. The Refinery is ready for hot commissioning and start up.

Eni signs agreement for the acquisition of a new exploration block offshore Pakistan

OMV makes another major step towards energy security in Pakistan
On October 4, 2012, OMV and its joint venture partners signed the development and production lease deed for Latif gas field located in the Sindh province of Pakistan. OMV is the operator of Latif concession and holds a 33.34% interest. The other partners in the joint venture are Eni (33.33% interest) and PPL (33.33% interest). The development will comprise of drilling of new wells and construction of a 50 km pipeline to transport Latif gas to the OMV operated Sawan gas plant where Latif gas will be processed and thereafter delivered to customers. OMV is targeting a net production of 5,700 boe/d from Latif in 2014 thereby delivering on a key initiative under the group-wide performance program “energize OMV”.
