SNC-Lavalin Awarded Feed For Pdvsa’s Giant Rio Caribe-Mejillones Offshore Development
SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) is pleased to announce that it has been selected to perform the front end engineering and design (FEED) for Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A.’s (PDVSA) Rio Caribe-Mejillones gas-condensate development offshore Venezuela. El Palito refinery FCC Back Online after Fire
Petroleos de Venezuela Socialist community informs of the commissioning of the Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCC) of the El Palito refinery, after the work done in the aforementioned soft start producing plant materials for the fuel mix.

Controlled small fire at PDVSA Cardon Refinery
Petróleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA) reports that at 1:15 pm on Wednesday 2 March, it caused a small fire in the pump room of the plant dewaxing Cardon refinery, part of the Paraguana Refining Center, Falcon State.

CITGO Completes Corporate-Wide Distillate Upgrade with ULSD Unit at Corpus Christi Facility
CITGO Petroleum Corporation announced the completion of construction and start-up of a 42,500 BPD unit utilizing the latest technology to produce Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) at its Christi, Texas refinery. With the completion of this unit, which has been in operation since December, CITGO is now capable of producing 100% ULSD at all of its refineries.

HOVENSA L.L.C. to Close Some Units and Reduce Crude Oil Distillation Capacity
HOVENSA L.L.C. (HOVENSA) today announced plans to shut down certain processing units on the west side of its refinery. This action will reduce the refinery’s crude oil distillation capacity from 500,000 barrels per day (BPD) to 350,000 BPD, with no impact on the capacity of its coker or fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit. This reconfiguration will be completed in the first quarter of 2011.

Eni starts heavy oil world-class project in Venezuela
Rafael Ramírez, Minister of Energy and Petroleum of Venezuela and President of PDVSA, and Paolo Scaroni, CEO of Eni, today signed in Caracas the contracts for the creation of two Empresas Mixtas (Mixed Enterprises): PetroJunín, dedicated to the development of Junín 5 Block, located in the Orinoco Oil Belt some 550 kilometers south east of Caracas, and PetroBicentenario, dedicated to the construction and operation of a refinery in the area of the existing industrial coastal complex of Jose. The participation in both Mixed Enterprises will be PDVSA 60% and Eni 40% according to the terms of the new hydrocarbon law of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Rosneft to Acquire 50% of Ruhr Oel GmbH
Rosneft today agreed with Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (“PDVSA”) to acquire PDVSA’s 50% stake in Ruhr Oel GmbH. The agreement was signed in the Kremlin in the presence of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

Gazprom Neft Appointed as Project Leader in Venezuela
Gazprom Neft has been appointed Project Leader for the Junin-6 project in the heavy oil basin of the Orinoco River in Venezuela. The resolution on the appointment was passed by the Board of Directors of OOO National Oil Consortium (NNK) established by five major Russian oil companies Gazprom Neft, LUKOIL, Rosneft, Surgutneftegaz and TNK-BP holding equal stakes in the project.
