BP Successfully Completes Deepwater Appraisal Well off Brazil
BP today announced that a Notification of Discovery for the Itaipu-2 pre-salt appraisal well, located in block BM-C-32 in the deepwater sector of the Campos Basin, has been lodged with the Brazilian National Petroleum Agency (ANP). The well, approximately 130km offshore Brazil, was drilled to a total depth of 4,877 metres in 1,420 metres water depth. Itaipu-2 delineates the discovery made in 2009-10 in Itaipu-1 some 7km to the northwest.

Discovery of New Gas Accumulation in Espírito Santo Basin

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 16, 2011 - HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A. (the “Company” or “HRT”) (BM&FBOVESPA: HRTP3, TSX-V: HRP) informs that its subsidiary, HRT O&G Exploração e Produção de Petróleo Ltda. (“HRT O&G”), forwarded today to the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis - ANP), a Notice of Discovery to the effect that gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons have been observed in well 1-HRT-3-AM, located in the Block SOL-T-168, in the Solimões Sedimentary Basin. The well is positioned at 7.5 km northwest of the Municipal District of Carauari, in the State of Amazonas, and was drilled by rig QG-IX (Queiroz Galvão).

MODEC Secures Award for OSX-3 FPSO
MODEC, Inc. (MODEC) announced today that OSX 3 Leasing B.V. has signed an EPCI contract for the supply of the OSX-3 FPSO, a Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) unit to be utilized within block BM-C-39 of the Campos Basin, offshore Brazil, on the Waikiki Pero Inga fields. OSX 3 Leasing B.V. is a subsidiary of OSX Brasil S.A., an EBX Group Company. The Letter of Intent was issued to MODEC on June 1, 2011.

Financial resources secured to expand the capacity of El Palito and Puerto La Cruz refineries
