Petrofac JV wins US$229 million contract in Iraq
Petrofac has won a further inspection, maintenance and repair contract for the Rumaila oil field in Southern Iraq with its joint venture partner, China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC). The US$229 million contract was awarded by BP Iraq NV (BP), via the Rumaila Operating Organisation (ROO), following a competitive tender.

GE Subsea Systems to Support North Sea Oil Field Development
GE Oil & Gas (NYSE: GE) surface and subsea production equipment, control systems and services have been selected for the Nexen Golden Eagle Area Development project in the United Kingdom’s central North Sea. Contracts with the project operator, Nexen Petroleum U.K. Limited, could total more than $170 million over the life of the development, GE reported at the 2012 GE Oil & Gas Annual Meeting being held Jan. 30-31 in Florence.

GE Oil & Gas Signs $30 Million Frame Agreement with Shell Brasil for Offshore Exploration and Development Projects
GE Oil & Gas has signed a three-year frame agreement valued at approximately $30 million to supply 26 subsea wellhead systems and associated services to Shell Brasil Ltda. for exploration and production projects offshore Brazil. The agreement means GE Oil & Gas will supply all Shell Brasil’s requirements for subsea drilling systems for all offshore exploratory and development wells to be drilled by Shell Brasil at least until the end of 2013.

Seadrill secures new jack-up contract in Thailand
Seadrill has been awarded a new contract by PTTEP in Thailand for the jack-up rig West Leda. The assignment is for a firm period of nine months and with an option to extend for a further six months. The contract value for the firm period is approximately US$35 million. Commencement of the operations under the new contract is scheduled for late second quarter 2011, in direct continuation of the rig's existing contract.
