Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong officially opened Singapore’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal this evening, at a ceremony held at the Terminal on Jurong Island. Gazprom Marketing & Trading Singapore and KOGAS sign mid-term LNG agreement
Gazprom Marketing & Trading Singapore (GM&T Singapore), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom, has signed a sale and purchase agreement with Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), South Korea’s largest natural gas company. Under the agreement, GM&T Singapore will supply up to eight cargoes of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) per annum to KOGAS in 2013 and 2014, totalling up to 1 million tonnes over the two years. The supply will come from GM&T’s diversified portfolio.

Neste Oil produces premium-quality NExBTL renewable diesel from waste fat sourced from the fish processing industry
Neste Oil has again expanded the range of renewable raw materials it uses by beginning to produce NExBTL renewable diesel from waste fat sourced from the fish processing industry at its Singapore refinery. The fat in question comes from the gutting waste generated when processing freshwater pangasius farmed in Southeast Asia after the fillets have been removed for human consumption.

LNG Terminal will diversify energy sources and enhance Singapore's energy security
Singapore’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal will further enhance Singapore’s energy security as it offers geographical diversification of LNG imports, making us less susceptible to price and supply risks. The LNG terminal which will allow Singapore to import gas from countries all over the world will also help to supplement our rising energy demand when it comes on-stream in 2013. As a fuel source, LNG will play an important role in helping to address Singapore’s energy challenges of energy security, economic competitiveness and environmental sustainability.

Neste Oil’s renewable diesel plant in Singapore selected as Project of the Year for 2010
Neste Oil’s new NExBTL renewable diesel plant in Singapore has been named Project of the Year in 2010 by the online magazine, Biofuels Digest. The plant, the world’s largest renewable diesel facility, was started up on-schedule and on-budget in November 2010. It has a capacity of 800,000 t/a and cost approx. €550 million.
