Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and Total sign a Memorandum of Understanding for a refining and petrochemicals project in Chi
Total today signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI)1 and Petrochemicals Industries Company (PIC)2, two wholly owned subsidiaries of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. The MOU relates to a targeted participation in the Zhanjiang project in China. This project consists of a planned development of a large size (300,000 barrel per day), full-conversion refinery integrated with petrochemicals and marketing, in partnership with Sinopec.

New pre-salt discovery in Campos Basin
Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras announces the discovery of a new hydrocarbon accumulation in the pre-salt layer, in the south of Campos Basin, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The discovery took place during drilling of the prospect unofficially known as Pão de Açúcar, in block BM-C-33. The discovery well is located at a water depth of 2,800 meters and is 195 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro State.

Australia Pacific LNG and Sinopec sign binding agreements for further LNG supply andan increase in equity to 25%

Sinopec, Saudi Aramco Sign YASREF Joint Venture Agreement
China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) and Saudi Aramco today signed a joint venture agreement related to the ongoing development of Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) Limited, formerly the Red Sea Refining Company. The agreement brings together two world-class companies that will complete construction and operate a highly competitive full-conversion refinery in Yanbu`, on the west coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Devon Energy Announces $2.2 Billion Transaction on Five New Venture Plays
Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE:DVN) today announced it has signed an agreement with Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration & Production Corporation (SIPC) whereby SIPC will invest $2.2 billion in exchange for one-third of Devon’s interest in five new venture plays. Prior to this transaction, Devon had assembled 1.2 million net acres in the company’s previously announced positions in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, Niobrara, Mississippian, Ohio Utica Shale and the Michigan Basin. The companies have recently added acreage in the Ohio Utica Shale, increasing their joint position in the play to 235,000 net acres.

Australia Pacific LNG Pty Limited (Australia Pacific LNG) and The Kansai Electric Power Company (Kansai Electric) today signed a binding Heads of Agreement for the sale and purchase of approximately 1 million tonnes of LNG per year for 20 years.
