Spectra Energy Corp Acquires One-Third Interest in Sand Hills and Southern Hills Pipelines
Spectra Energy Corp (NYSE: SE) today announced it has closed its previously announced acquisition of a one-third interest in the Sand Hills and Southern Hills pipelines, both of which currently are under construction by DCP Midstream, LLC (DCP Midstream), a 50/50 joint venture between Spectra Energy and Phillips 66.

Spectra Energy to Acquire One-Third Interest in Sand Hills Pipeline and Southern Hills Pipeline
Spectra Energy Corp (NYSE: SE) today announced it has reached an agreement in principle to acquire a one-third interest in the Sand Hills and Southern Hills pipelines, both of which currently are under construction by DCP Midstream, LLC (DCP Midstream), a 50/50 joint venture between Spectra Energy and Phillips 66. The transaction is expected to close by the end of November. Upon closing, Spectra Energy, Phillips 66, and DCP Midstream each will own a one-third interest in the two pipelines – and will equally fund the remaining capital expenditures through completion of the pipelines. The aggregate investment by Spectra Energy in the two pipeline projects is expected to be between $700-800 million.

Spectra Announces Project Development Agreement with BG Group for New Natural Gas Transportation System in British Columbia
Spectra Energy Corp (NYSE: SE) today announced that the company has signed a Project Development Agreement with BG Group plc (LSE: BG.L) to jointly develop plans for a new natural gas transportation system from northeast B.C. to serve BG Group’s potential liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Prince Rupert, on the province’s northwest coast. Spectra Energy and BG Group will each initially own a 50 percent interest in the proposed transportation project. Spectra Energy will be responsible for construction and operation and BG Group has agreed to contract for all of the proposed capacity.
