Spectra Energy Holds Open Season for Renaissance Gas Transmission Project
Spectra Energy Corp (NYSE: SE) today announced a non-binding open season for its Renaissance Gas Transmission (Renaissance) project, a new pipeline system that will link growing natural gas supplies to high-demand power generation and distribution markets in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. The company also announced it has executed a non-binding letter of intent with AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS) to explore a joint business arrangement and transportation service options for the local distribution companies owned by AGL Resources that operate near the proposed pipeline.

Spectra Energy Corp's (NYSE: SE) Texas Eastern Transmission, LP (Texas Eastern), American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) and Chesapeake Energy Marketing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE: CHK), today announced their intention to advance the development of the Ohio Pipeline Energy Network (OPEN) project, a proposed expansion of the Texas Eastern pipeline system that will connect Ohio's Utica and Marcellus shale gas supplies with the fast-growing markets attached to the Texas Eastern system, in particular natural gas-fired power generation.

Spectra Energy Receives FERC Approval for Texas Eastern Appalachia to Market 2012 Expansion Project
Spectra Energy Corp (NYSE: SE) today announced its subsidiary, Texas Eastern Transmission, LP (Texas Eastern), has received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the Texas Eastern Appalachia to Market (TEAM) 2012 expansion project, which will expand Texas Eastern's existing pipeline system to deliver additional Appalachian and Marcellus Shale natural gas supplies to various premium U.S. markets, including the Northeast.
