ABB completes Troll A platform’s second power-from-shore system
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has delivered its second power-from-shore system to Troll A, the world’s largest offshore gas platform, which is operated by Statoil and located in the North Sea about 70 km west of the Kollsnes onshore gas treatment plant, outside Bergen.
Troll oil for 20 years
This week it is 20 years since the start of oil production from the Troll field. The 20 year-old can look back on enormous wealth, with 1.56 billion barrels produced so far and NOK 460 billion in income.
FMC Technologies Awarded Phase 1 for Statoil's Johan Sverdrup
FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced today the award of a new EPC contract with Statoil where Phase 1 of the Johan Sverdrup field is the first call-off. The contract has an estimated value of $172 million in revenue and includes subsea trees, subsea wellheads, manifolds, and control systems integration.
Contract award for Johan Sverdrup power cables
Statoil has, on behalf of the Johan Sverdrup partnership, awarded a contract to ABB AB in Sweden for fabrication and installation of two high-voltage cables supplying power from shore to the Johan Sverdrup field.
Hot-tap contract on Johan Sverdrup to IKM Ocean Design
An engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Johan Sverdrup gooseneck spool and retrofit hot-tap tee has been awarded to IKM Ocean Design by Statoil on behalf of operator Gassco.
Contract for Johan Sverdrup drilling platform jacket
On behalf of the Johan Sverdrup partnership, Statoil is today awarding a contract to Kværner Verdal for delivery of the steel jacket for the Johan Sverdrup drilling platform.
The contract is an execution of the letter of intent signed by Statoil and Kværner for delivery of two jackets for Johan Sverdrup.

The plan for development and operation (PDO) for Johan Sverdrup, phase one, was approved by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy Thursday, 20 August.
Polarled – the first pipeline crossing the Arctic Circle
On 21 August the Polarled gas pipeline crossed 66 degrees and 33 minutes north of the equator becoming the first pipeline to take the Norwegian gas infrastructure across the Arctic Circle. This will open a new gas highway from the Norwegian Sea to Europe.

Angola: Total starts up production from Dalia Phase 1A on deep offshore Block
Total has started production from Dalia Phase 1A, a new development on its deep offshore operated Block 17, located 135 km off the coast of Angola. Dalia Phase 1A will develop additional reserves of 51 million barrels (Mb) and will contribute 30,000 barrels per day (b/d) to the block’s production.
