A working meeting was held today at the Gazprom headquarters. Participating in the meeting were Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, Helge Lund, President and Chief Executive Officer of Statoil and Christophe de Margerie, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Total SA.

Statoil Major oil discovery in the Barents Sea
Statoil, along with partners Eni Norway and Petoro, has made a significant oil discovery on the Skrugard prospect in the Barents Sea. The breakthrough discovery is one of the most important finds on the Norwegian continental shelf in the last decade.
Statoil and its partners are in the process of concluding drilling operations on the Skrugard prospect, which is located approximately 100 kilometres north of the Snøhvit gas field in the Barents Sea.

The Vega field in the North Sea was officially opened
The Vega field in the North Sea was officially opened during a ceremony in Bergen yesterday, 17 March. The subsea field adds important natural gas and condensate to Statoil´s production on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Statoil and PTTEP sign MoU for future cooperation
At a ceremony in Bangkok on 18 March 2011, Statoil signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) of Thailand.
Last November, Statoil agreed to sell to PTTEP a 40% stake in its Kai Kos Dehseh Canadian Oil Sands asset, forming a strong partnership with PTTEP. The MoU builds on this partnership and opens the door for further cooperation between the two companies.

Statoil and ExxonMobil together on the Faroes
Statoil and ExxonMobil have agreed to explore three Faroese offshore licenses jointly.
ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Faroe Islands Limited will acquire 50% interest in Licenses 009 and 011 and 49% interest in License 006, where Atlantic Petroleum is a minority owner with 1% interest. Statoil Faroes AS will retain 50% interest and operatorship in all three licences.

Technip awarded an EPIC subsea contract for the Gygrid project in Norway
Technip was awarded by Statoil a contract, worth approximately €90 million, for the Gygrid field development located in the Norwegian Sea at a water depth of 265 - 330 meters.

Transocean Ltd. Announces Transocean Leader Awarded Three-Year Contract
Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) (SIX: RIGN) today announced that its high-specification semisubmersible rig Transocean Leader has been awarded a three-year contract by a subsidiary of Statoil ASA for operations in Norway. The contract, which has a one-year extension option, is expected to commence in direct continuation of the rig's current contract. Estimated contract revenues related to the three-year contract are approximately $427 million. Estimated contract revenues represent the maximum amount of revenues that may be earned in the firm contract period, excluding revenues for mobilization, cost escalations, customer reimbursed equipment and miscellaneous adjustments.
