Statoil identified for pre-salt operatorships in Angola
The national oil company Sonangol has publicly announced that the Angolan jury of the bid rounds has elected Statoil for operatorship and participation in several pre-salt blocks offshore Angola.
Statoil has submitted its proposal as part of the pre-salt restricted public bid round organised by Sonangol for access to pre-salt acreage in the Kwanza Basin in Angola. Statoil’s proposal includes operatorship of Blocks 38 and 39 and participation in Blocks 22, 25 and 40 with a comprehensive work program and a signature bonus for each block.

New exploration acreage for Statoil
Statoil has been awarded interests in 11 production licences on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) yesterday, 18 January. Statoil is operator for eight of these licences.
“We’re very pleased with this year’s awards,” says Gro Gunleiksrud Haatvedt, Statoil’s senior vice president for exploration on the NCS.

Petrofac Awarded US$1.2 Billion Project in Algeria
Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, has been awarded a US$1.2 billion lump-sum engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by In Salah Gas (ISG), an association between Sonatrach, BP and Statoil, to develop southern fields in the In Salah development.

Statoil, strengthening our position in the Barents Sea
Statoil and OMV in Norway have entered into an agreement regarding swap of interests in two licences in the Barents Sea.
Statoil will take over 15 percent of OMV's 40 percent interest in production licence 537. The licence was awarded in the 20th licensing round in 2009 with OMV as the operator.

Statoil, Modifications worth NOK 9 billion
Statoil has planned 990 modification projects on the Norwegian continental shelf in 2011, with a price tag totalling NOK 9 billion. The modifications will improve health, safety and the environment (HSE) – as well as earnings from the installations.

Statoil Awards $75 Million Vigdis North-East Project to FMC Technologies
FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced today that it has signed an agreement with Statoil for the manufacture and supply of subsea production equipment to support the Vigdis North-East development. The award has a value of approximately $75 million in revenue to FMC Technologies.
