CEPSA farms into Suriname Block 53
Apache Corporation said today that CEPSA Suriname S.L., a Spanish company, has farmed in to a 25-percent participating interest in Suriname's Block 53, a 867,117-acre (3,509 km2) area located in 1,640-5,900 feet (500-1,800 meters) of water about 80 miles (130 km) offshore.

Chevron Enters Into Agreement with Kosmos Energy to Explore Offshore Suriname
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Chevron Global Energy Inc. (Chevron) will be assigned a 50 percent working interest in Blocks 42 and 45 offshore Suriname through an agreement with Kosmos Energy. Under the agreement, Kosmos will have a 50 percent working interest and remain operator of both blocks until the end of the exploration phase. Chevron will assume the remaining 50 percent working interest and will be the operator following any commercial discoveries.

Ballast Nedam wins contract for civil works for Refinery Expansion Project
Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname NV, the state oil company of Suriname, has awarded Ballast Nedam the contract for the general civil- and steel piling works for the Refinery Expansion Project.The purpose of the Refinery Expansion Project is to double the processing capacity at Tout Lui Faut Refinery to 15,000 barrels a day when completed.

Kosmos Energy Announces New Exploration Licenses Offshore Suriname
Kosmos Energy (NYSE: KOS) announced today that it has executed two Production Sharing Contracts with Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V., the national oil company of Suriname, for Blocks 42 and 45 offshore Suriname. The addition of the acreage is a significant expansion of the Company’s exploration portfolio and represents Kosmos’ first acreage acquisition outside of West Africa.

Statoil has acquired a 30% participating interest in block 47 offshore Suriname from Tullow Oil.
