TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. Signs Agreement With Shell Regarding Sivas Basin Exploration Activities
TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. (TSX: TNP) (NYSE Amex: TAT) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Shell Upstream Turkey BV ("Shell") pursuant to which Shell will co-fund a 2012 TransAtlantic program to collect 1,000 kilometers of 2D seismic data and approximately 8,000 kilometers of airborne gravity gradiometry and magnetic data in Turkey's Sivas Basin, where TransAtlantic holds exploration licenses covering approximately 1.6 million acres. The agreement provides an option for Shell to farm in on the leases after it assesses the data collected.

TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. Announces Non-Binding Letter of Intent to Sell Oilfield Services Business for $164 Million
TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. (TSX: TNP) (NYSE Amex: TAT) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a non-binding letter of intent to sell its oilfield services business, which is substantially comprised of its wholly owned subsidiaries Viking International Limited ("Viking International") and Viking Geophysical Services, Ltd. ("Viking Geophysical" and, together with Viking International, "Viking"), to a consortium consisting of Dalea Partners, LP ("Dalea", an affiliate of N. Malone Mitchell, 3rd, the Company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer) and funds advised by Abraaj Investment Management Limited ("Abraaj", an affiliate of Abraaj Capital, one of the largest private equity groups in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) for an aggregate purchase price of $164 million, subject to adjustment in certain limited circumstances. Consideration for the sale would consist of $152.5 million in cash and an $11.5 million interest-bearing promissory note from Dalea. The promissory note would be payable five years from the date of issuance or earlier upon the occurrence of certain specified events.

TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. Reports Incident at Selmo Field
TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. (TSX: TNP) (NYSE Amex: TAT) reports that today at approximately 10:30 pm (local time) one or more armed individual(s) attacked workers at the Company's Selmo field operations in southeastern Turkey. TransAtlantic is sorry to report that three workers were killed in the incident, which at this time appears to be an isolated event. The Company is working with local authorities to investigate the incident and provide additional security for our operations in the vicinity.

TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd.Announces Expansion into Bulgaria and Increased Presence in Morocco
TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. (TSX: TNP)(NYSE-AMEX: TAT) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, TransAtlantic Worldwide, Ltd. ("TransAtlantic Worldwide"), has entered into an agreement ("Purchase Agreement") with Direct Petroleum Exploration, Inc. ("DPE") under which TransAtlantic Worldwide would acquire 100% ownership of Direct Petroleum Bulgaria EEOD ("Direct Bulgaria"), Direct Petroleum Morocco, Inc. and Anschutz Morocco Corporation (together the "Direct Morocco Subsidiaries"). Closing of the transaction, which is expected to occur by February 15, 2011, is subject to regulatory approvals, approval of DPE's shareholders and other customary closing conditions.
