The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to permit GAIL( India) Limited to sign the Gas Sale & Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with TurrnenGas, Turkmenistan's national oil company, for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) Gas Pipeline Project.

Natural gas arrives at Guangdong from Turkmenistan
On November 24, ignition ceremonies were simultaneously held in Shenzhen and Guangzhou to celebrate the arrival of natural gas from Turkmenistan. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee Wang Yang, Acting Governor Zhu Xiaodan and CNPC Chairman Jiang Jiemin attended the ceremony and pressed the ignition button together in Shenzhen. The natural gas, traveling 6,811km through Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline and the Second West-East Gas Pipeline, started burning brightly.

ITERA and Zarubezhneft signed Joint Operation Agreement to develop block 21 in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea
V.P. Makeev, Chairman of the Management Board of ITERA Oil and Gas Company, LLC, and N.G. Brunich, General Director of OJSC Zarubezhneft signed a Joint Operation Agreement under the Production Sharing Agreement (the “PSA”) in respect of Block 21 in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea on August 10, 2011.

Petrofac to Commence US$3.4 Billion Second Phase of Turkmenistan Contract
Petrofac, the international oil & gas facilities service provider, confirms that following successful completion of the first phase of the South Yoloten project for Turkmengas, the state-owned national gas company of Turkmenistan, it has commenced work on the second phase of the project, worth US$3.4 billion.
