Essar Energy completes acquisition of Stanlow oil refinery
Essar Energy plc [LSE:ESSR] today announced that it has completed the $350 million acquisition of the oil refinery and other associated assets at Stanlow, near Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, from Shell UK Limited.

Petrofac Awarded North Sea Contract Renewal

Aker Solutions to conduct FEED study for Statoil's Mariner field
Aker Solutions has won a contract to conduct the topside FEED (front-end engineering and design) study for Statoil on the Mariner field on the UK continental shelf in the North Sea. The contract value is approximately NOK125 million.

Opening of gas storage facility in UK
Developers Scottish and Southern Energy plc (SSE) and Statoil (UK) Ltd opened the new gas storage facility at Aldbrough in East Yorkshire today, 27 June.

Technip awarded contract for UK North Sea Development
Endeavour Energy UK Ltd, a subsidiary of Endeavour International Corporation, awarded Technip an EPCI lump sum contract, worth around €70 million, for the East Rochelle development in the United Kingdom North Sea. The field is located approximately 185 kilometers north-east of Aberdeen, Scotland in 140 meters of water.

Maersk Oil approves Golden Eagle field development plan
Maersk Oil, a fully-owned subsidiary of the A. P. Moller – Maersk Group, has approved its investment of $1 billion in the Field Development Plan for the Golden Eagle Area in the UK North Sea. Maersk Oil has a non-operated interest in the fields of 31.56% and its estimated share of reserves is expected to be around 45 million barrels of oil equivalent.
