Energy XXI (Nasdaq:EXXI) (LSE:EXXI) today announced it has executed a purchase and sale agreement to acquire certain shallow-water Gulf of Mexico shelf oil and natural gas interests from affiliates of ExxonMobil for $1.01 billion.

Macquarie Energy and Freeport LNG Expansion, L.P. to Jointly Develop U.S. LNG Export Project
Macquarie Energy, the North American energy marketing and trading arm of Macquarie Group (Macquarie) (ASX: MQG), and Freeport LNG Expansion, L.P. (Freeport LNG) today announced an agreement to jointly develop and market liquefaction capacity at Freeport LNG’s existing LNG import terminal near Freeport, Texas. The proposed liquefaction facility will be capable of liquefying up to 1.4 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas and will create a world-class bi-directional import/export LNG terminal.

Hess Acquires Additional Bakken Acreage
Hess Corporation (NYSE: HES) announced today that it has agreed to acquire 167,000 net acres in the Bakken oil shale play in North Dakota from TRZ Energy, LLC for $1,050 million in cash.

Enterprise to Build Crude Oil Facility Linking Eagle Ford Shale Production to Houston-Area Refining Complex
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (NYSE:EPD) today announced plans to construct a crude oil storage facility and associated pipelines to provide refiners in the Houston area with access to growing production from the Eagle Ford Shale play in South Texas. A 150-acre tract in an industrial area of southeast Houston has been purchased as the site for the new Enterprise Crude Houston terminal.

Cheniere Signs MOU With ENN Energy Trading for Bi-Directional Processing Capacity at the Sabine Pass LNG Terminal
Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE Amex: CQP) ("Cheniere Partners") announced today that its subsidiary, Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC ("Sabine"), has signed a memorandum of understanding ("MOU") with ENN Energy Trading Co., Ltd. ("ENN Energy Trading"), under which ENN Energy Trading intends to contract 1.5 million tonnes per annum ("mtpa") of bi-directional LNG processing capacity at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Chevron Announces Agreement to Acquire Atlas Energy
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) and Atlas Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATLS) announced today that Chevron would acquire Atlas Energy for cash of $3.2 billion and assumed pro forma net debt of approximately $1.1 billion. The acquisition will provide Chevron with an attractive natural gas resource position primarily located in southwestern Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale. The acquisition is subject to certain Atlas Energy restructuring transactions, approval by Atlas Energy shareholders and regulatory clearance.

Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE Amex: CQP) ("Cheniere Partners") announced today that its subsidiary, Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC ("Sabine"), has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding ("MOU") with Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc. ("Morgan Stanley") in connection with the potential acquisition by Morgan Stanley of certain import capacity and approximately twenty percent of a proposed 7.0 million tonnes per annum ("mtpa") of LNG liquefaction capacity at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Shell to sell Gulf of Mexico fields to W&T Offshore, Inc.
Shell announced today that it has agreed to sell its interest in six Gulf of Mexico oil and gas fields to W & T Energy VI, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of W&T Offshore Inc., for $450 million, with an effective date of September 1, 2010, as part of an ongoing portfolio restructuring and focus on capital efficiency.

PAA Announces Expansions of Its Cushing Terminal Facility
Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. (NYSE:PAA) announced today that it is adding a new pipeline interconnect and approximately four million barrels of storage capacity at its Cushing Terminal Facility in three phases. In the aggregate, the construction of Phase IX, X and XI expansion projects will expand PAA's existing crude oil storage capacity by approximately 30% and enhance the connectivity of PAA's Cushing, Oklahoma terminal. The Partnership expects these projects to cost a total of approximately $85 million.

U.S. Maritime Administration Issues Record of Decision for TORP’s Bienville Offshore Energy Terminal
Maritime Administrator David T. Matsuda on Friday signed the Record of Decision approving the deepwater port application submitted by TORP Terminal LP for a license to own, construct and operate the Bienville Offshore Energy Terminal, an LNG regasification facility located in the Gulf of Mexico, 63 miles south of Dauphin Island, Alabama in a water depth of 425 feet.
