Wärtsilä wins two more regasification module contracts for LNG vessels
South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has placed two important contracts with Wärtsilä for seawater/propane based regasification modules. The systems are to be installed on FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) vessels owned by Höegh LNG, the Norway based leading owner and operator of floating energy solutions, and by Russian energy company Gazprom. The contracts were signed in July. There is also an option for a further contract from HHI for another Höegh vessel that is valid until December of this year.

Wärtsilä topside power modules chosen for North Sea FPSO
Wärtsilä will supply a 62 MW topside power module solution for a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel to be deployed at the Kraken oilfield located in the U.K. sector of the North Sea. This EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) award has been given in December 2013 by Armada Kraken Pte.Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysia based international offshore oilfield services provider, Bumi Armada.

Wärtsilä Hamworthy wins third FSRU contract with Höegh LNG
Hamworthy Oil & Gas Systems has secured a contract to supply its innovative LNG regasification technology for the third Höegh LNG Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) under construction at Hyundai Heavy Industries. Working together with Sinopacific Offshore and Engineering (SOE) Wärtsilä Hamworthy will design and supply the system concept whilst the key equipment and fabrication will be supplied by SOE.

Wärtsilä completes unique conversion of vessel to LNG operation
The product tanker ‘Bit Viking’ was the first vessel ever to undergo a conversion by Wärtsilä from heavy fuel oil to liquefied natural gas (LNG) operation. The conversion enables the ‘Bit Viking’ to qualify for lower nitrogen oxide (NOX) emission taxes under the Norwegian NOX fund scheme.
