NMED Settles Emissions Violations Case with Western Refining
The New Mexico Environment Department has reached a settlement with Western Refining over emissions violations that took place between July 1, 2009 through March 15, 2012 at the company’s Ciniza refinery near Gallup. Under the agreement, Western has agreed to pay stipulated penalties of $444,000 for excess emissions of sulfer dioxide, nitrogen oxides and other pollutants.

Western Refining Closes on Sale of Assets and Completes Redemption of All Outstanding Senior Secured Floating Rate Notes
Western Refining, Inc. (NYSE:WNR) today announced that it has closed on the sale of its Yorktown, Virginia facilities and a segment of its crude oil pipeline in southeast New Mexico to Plains Marketing, L.P. and Plains Pipeline, L.P., both subsidiaries of Plains All American Pipeline, L.P., for approximately $220 million.

Western Refining Begins Startup of Its El Paso Refinery
Western Refining, Inc. (NYSE:WNR) announced today that its El Paso refinery began starting various units late last week and anticipates returning to normal operations later this week. The El Paso refinery experienced damage and interruption to its operations due to record-breaking low temperatures and interruptions to its electrical supply beginning February 2, 2011.

Western Refining Announces Temporary Suspension of Refining Operations at Its El Paso Refinery Due to Extreme Weather Conditions
Western Refining (NYSE:WNR) announced today that on February 2, 2011, it temporarily suspended refining operations at its El Paso refinery due to inclement weather in El Paso and related curtailment of electricity by the local utility. The El Paso refinery experienced some freeze-related damage and the Company has begun the necessary repairs to resume operations. Management anticipates beginning startup of certain processing units in approximately three to five days and is working with its customers and suppliers to address any interruptions that may arise from this event.
